William Gross, DDS

Treating Sleep apnea patients with oral appliance therapy for over 30 years.

During the late 1980’s I was treating patients with TMJ/CFPD daily utilizing unique musculoskeletal Bio Research technology. At that time, I was invited to attend a first ever meeting in Milwaukee to understand and treat obstructive sleep apnea with the first FDA approved oral device. Shortly after my training, I was approved as the first dentist in New Jersey to treat sleep apnea with an oral device. Then through physician contacts I became a partner in one of the first sleep centers outside of a hospital in Morristown, NJ.

I have had seasonal allergies since I am 6 years old. Then snoring had become an issue for my wife in the last few years to the point of her wearing ear plugs to sleep with. As we all know, the snorer has no idea of this occurring. At some point, I realized 2 years ago increased fatigue during the day requiring short naps at lunchtime. I blamed my work schedule for my lack of energy, however, came to the realization that a sleep study would be sensible.

I was diagnosed with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea. What a surprise! Through a combination of oral appliances and use of an auto pap, I feel energized, lost the weight I wanted to, and no more naps.

It was with my own circumstances that I chose to reenter the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. We sleep 1/3 of our life-to have a longer life, a better life, and a healthier life; treatment for those who have OSA is life altering in numerous ways.

At North Carolina Sleep Solutions we work with board-certified sleep physicians, ENTs, primary care physicians, and other medical specialties to provide you with the most comprehensive care possible to help you live your best life.

Jenny Joyce

Director Of Sleep Medicine

I am a Midwestern transplant, who loves the South. I graduated from the University of Michigan in 1996 with a B.S. in Dental Hygiene. Over the years I have thoroughly enjoyed helping patients with their oral health needs. More recently, I have been expanding my expertise in Dental Sleep Medicine. I have always been fascinated by how the body works and how resolving an upstream problem can resolve many downstream health issues. I also suffer from a sleep disorder and understand how debilitating it can be when you do not get quality sleep. I am committed to helping our patients get the care they need, so they can wake up each day feeling refreshed and energized.
